West Cornforth pupils design MP’s Christmas card

Every year, Sedgefield MP Phil Wilson enlists the help of a local Primary School to help him design his Christmas card.

This year it was the turn of West Cornforth Primary School. Children at the school were asked to design a Christmas themed image, with the winning design to be placed on the front of Mr Wilson’s Christmas card and the designs of two runners up placed on the back.

As always, deciding the winner was a difficult decision, with all of the children’s designs being absolutely fantastic. However, after much deliberation, Mr Wilson chose the entry submitted by nine year old Logan Hunter as the winner, with Ruby Sargent and Megan Johnson entries being runners up.

The card, printed by Newton Press, will be sent to well over 250 people across the country, including other MP’s, councillors, schools, businesses, community groups, and friends of Mr Wilson.

Commenting on the Christmas card competition Mr Wilson said ‘It is always a tough decision to pick the winner, the entries were brilliant and it was obvious that the children had put a great deal of effort into the designs.’

‘I would like to say a big thankyou to West Cornforth Primary School for helping me with my Christmas card this year!’
