Phil Wilson, MP for Sedgefield, visited the Friday Lunch club at St Luke’s Church in Ferryhill.
Met by Harry Slater, the church warden, Phil was introduced to the staff and diners, being on hand to answer any questions or queries they had.
As well as answering questions, Phil also chatted with constituents about a range of issues, including the impeding referendum.
Whilst there, Phil enjoyed some of St Luke’s culinary delights, before helping Shirley do a spot of tidying up behind the scenes!
Commenting on the visit Phil Wilson said “It was a great to visit St Luke’s Church and meet both the staff and the local residents. The Friday Lunch club demonstrates Ferryhill’s great community spirit, and I hope to be back very soon.”
St Luke’s Church hosts Friday Lunches every week, with coffee from 9.30am and lunches starting at 11.30am.
