Business Durham’s Breakfast event gathered around 70 North East business leaders to discuss the developments of the Transatlanctic Trade Investment Partnership deal.

Phil Wilson MP gave an initial presentation, welcoming the conversation about TTIP, highlighting the importance of trade to the region and giving reasons why the debate about TTIP was needed
Jude Kirton-Darling MEP gave a presentation around the context of TTIP overall, on where the Labour party stands and on what the Labour MEPs have been doing to influence the negotiations from Brussels in order secure the best possible outcome.
Neil Foster gave a Trade union perspective on TTIP and James Neel gave an overview on the background of TTIP, why it has developed and the potential benefits to business both British and American people
