On Friday 23rd September, Phil Wilson MP took part in the annual MacMillan Coffee morning to help raise money and awareness for MacMillan Cancer Support. Organised by the office of Phil Wilson, based in Newton Aycliffe, the event was a great success raising £256.
With the cakes and raffle prizes kindly provided by local Labour Party members, the event was well catered for, with local labour member Julie Adam receiving the accolade of ‘Best Baker’ for her delicious homemade treats.
The coffee morning, provided a great opportunity for constituents to pop along and chat Phil over a cuppa and a cake.
In addition to the baked treats, there was also a raffle taking place, which was drawn by a local police officer who popped along to support the event. (The winning ticket numbers were, Yellow 476, Blue 326, Green 46, White 746, White 816, Yellow 421, White 831, Yellow 496, White 786, and Blue 481)
Following the event, Mr Wilson said ‘I would like to say a big thank you to all the constituents and Labour Party members who supported the coffee morning. It is a fantastic cause, with MacMillan providing much needed support to many families not only in my constituency, but across the country.’
